BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) OK'd the start of an environmental assessment in the next step for a new proposed Mississippi River bridge near Baton Rouge.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) stated that the formal process of involving residents and stakeholders can begin as the project progresses. The agency noted that the review considers environmental, community, and transportation impacts while comparing alternatives.
