An Alberta youth is facing charges in relation to the forced evacuation of a Hinton high school Friday after a vehicle collided with the building.
Just before 3 p.m., officers in Hinton received a report of a vehicle that crashed into Harry Collinge High School on Friday, said RCMP in a media release.
Students and teachers were ordered to evacuate while RCMP and emergency crews responded. Emergency medical services transported the driver, a male youth, to hospital for evaluation.
Police said their investigation led them to believe the collision was intentional and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
In an interview with Postmedia on Monday morning, Alberta RCMP Const. Mathew Howell said the collision caused significant damage near one of the school entrances.
