GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies have arrested a man for showing a weapon on Monday morning at a Santee Cooper energy facility.

Darius Green, 29, was arrested and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm, sheriff’s spokesman Jason Lesley says.

Green, who was working as a contractor, fled the scene after a brief altercation. He was located in the Bucksport area of Horry County and was taken into custody by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and the Horry County Police Department.

Deputies responded to the Winyah Generating Station at Steam Plant Drive off Pennyroyal Road to a report of a man with a gun.

Green was transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
