Some freeze-dried strawberries have been recalled because they may be contaminated.

Tru Fru announced that its third-party manufacturer, Georgia Nut Company issued a voluntary recall of specific varieties of Tru Fru Freeze Dried products because of the potential for there to be metal in the products, according to an announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The metal was discovered by a customer.

Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate and Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème were distributed in the United States via retail stores and online including Albertson’s, CVS, Food Lion, H-E-B, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard’s, and Target.

There have been no reported cases of injury or illness to date.
