UPDATE: A sentencing hearing for former Tennessee State Representative Robin Smith, who was charged following a federal investigation, is expected to happen in October.

Smith pleaded guilty to one count of honest services fraud as part of a plea deal in March of 2022, following a federal investigation of a mail scheme that was launched in January of 2021, which also involved former House Speaker Glen Casada and his chief of staff Cade Cothren.

Smith served as the state house representative for District 26 before resigning from her seat.

Smith’s sentencing date was originally scheduled for October 17, 2022.
