The Athletics will wear uniforms next year that state the name of their temporary home: Sacramento.

The A’s announced Sunday that they will wear alternate yellow uniforms that have “Sacramento” script written on them.

The backstory: When the A’s left Oakland after last season and moved to Sacramento while the organization’s new stadium in Las Vegas is being built, the team opted to wear uniforms that did not include Sacramento. • Instead, the uniforms either said “Athletics” or “A’s.” The A’s previously had uniforms that said “Oakland” when they played in Oakland for decades. • The team also announced that it will simply be known as the “Athletics,” opting to not take the name “Sacramento A’s” in the interim as the team awaits its move to Las Vegas.
