NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City students can once again enjoy time outside the classroom, as schools will be closed this Thursday to observe Yom Kippur.

For students in private, parochial, and charter schools, please contact your child's school for information about closings.

There are also two other planned holidays on Oct. 13 and 20, in observance of Italian Heritage Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day and Diwali.
