YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - The founder of the Dorothy Day House in Youngstown has died.
The passing of Sister Ann McManamon was announced on the organization's Facebook page. It said Sister McManamon died Monday morning.
"Thank you for your witness to the Gospel. Your love and your legacy will be carried on through the Dorothy Day House," the post read.
The Dorothy Day House, located on Belmont Avenue, provides a hot meal each evening, access to a shower, vegetables from the facility's garden, "most of all, a warm welcome with the offer of friendship and the promise of respect for everyone who walks through our doors," information from the Dorothy Day House reads.
The Dorothy Day House, which opened in 2009, serves about 75 guests each evening.
