PHILADELPHIA – Since the first earth-shaking Red October of this era of Phillies baseball three years ago, the team hasn't been shy about promoting its postseason circus of raucous, red towel-waving fans.
It's a party. It's a rave. It's four hours of hell for the opposing team as manager Rob Thomson once relayed hearing from a National League coach.
And it's, again, right around the corner.
The Phillies (96-66) begin postseason play at Citizens Bank Park on Oct. 4. For the second straight year, they earned a bye to the second round, the National League Division Series, bypassing the best-of-three Wild Card round. They will hold home field advantage in every series except if they face the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
