COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The Covington County Sheriff’s Office has made 75 drug-related arrests since the first of the year.
A post on the CCSO’s Facebook page said that since January, deputies and investigators have seized substantial quantities of narcotics and firearms.
CCSO said those seizures included:
Twenty pounds of marijuana
Five pounds of methamphetamine
Multiple firearms linked to drug-trafficking activity.
“Every pound of drugs seized and every dealer taken off the streets makes our communities safer,” Covington County Sheriff Darrell Perkins said. “This fight is far from over, and we will continue to pursue those who try to poison our county with illegal narcotics.”
Of the 75 arrests, seven were “enhanced” because of firearms being present during the commission
