MANCHESTER, N.H. —
New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan is reminding voters about new election law changes for those registering or voting by absentee ballot.
The changes take effect Tuesday and require anyone registering to vote absentee to provide proof of U.S. citizenship , age, identity, and domicile with their application.
Voters requesting a ballot by mail must include a copy of their photo ID or a notarized signature. Those picking up a ballot in person must show a photo ID or provide a notarized signature.
Residents may qualify for an absentee ballot if they are temporarily absent from their town or city, have a physical disability, or are confined to a penal institution for a misdemeanor or while awaiting trial.
