FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts has launched a new interactive website to help people connect with the state's military history ahead of the country's 250th anniversary.
Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll joined state and local leaders at Battleship Cove in Fall River on Monday to highlight the Veterans Legacy Trail.
The project catalogued more than 1,200 war memorials across Massachusetts, according to the state's Executive Office of Veterans Services.
The interactive map shows the locations of war memorials with icons denoting the type of memorial. Clicking on the icons gives users more information, including the memorial's official name and address.
"The Veterans Legacy Trail makes history tangible," Driscoll said in a press release. "Whether it’s a neighborhood monument like Bunker
