SOUTH LANCASTER — “Daddy, buy me that one,” came the plea from Merle Noseworthy, pointing at the piece, Porch Life, in the corner of the art studio belonging to Cynthia Gatien.

Noseworthy was one of hundreds of appreciative public members who took in multiple studios, galleries, and workshops offered by the 34th Apples and Art Studio Tour . They got not just a chance to view impressive artwork, but also learned a little about some of the offerings and their creators.

For example, Gatien took the opportunity to speak about the acrylic Porch Life to her admirer. The painting was inspired by her back porch, and the guests who have enjoyed her South Lancaster backyard, she said.

The guests are represented by a dog, a cat, and even a penguin.
