Remember the Simpsons Movie? It's back! In Sequel form!

The Simpsons Movie will return for a sequel nearly two decades after the first film hit theatres, with cinemagoers set to be returned to Springfield, the town of 'good friends, lots of lemons, numerous angel sightings'.

Created by cartoonist Matt Groening (you may remember him from such long-running cartoon series as The Simpsons and Futurama...), the film is based on Fox’s long-running satirical series.

On Monday 20th Century Studios confirmed there were 'doin's a transpirin'' - with a release date set for July 23 2027 (and nothing can possiBLY go wrong).

The film poster was shared on Instagram with a picture of a doughnut being grabbed and a tagline that read: “Homer’s coming back for seconds.”
