SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – What began as a brushfire call ended as a cross-department operation to tackle a rapidly growing fire in Shreveport.
A report from the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) states the fire, which started near West Bernt Kouns Industrial Loop, took the combined efforts of SFD, Caddo Parish Fire Districts 3 and 4, as well as the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF).
First arriving at the scene around 1:20 p.m., the SFD says it was immediately apparent that another water truck would be needed, and they made the call back to the station immediately.
However, the high wind coupled with the landscape called for more resources as the fire rapidly began to spread.
Due to this, SFD requested brush trucks and water tanks from Caddo Parish Fire District
