A judge has ordered a Subway in Worcester to be closed due to unpaid rent and tax bills.

District judge David P. Despotopulos ordered Subway Real Estate LLC. to pay the building’s owner, Antonio Corapi, $19,878.17, according to court records. The judge also ordered the building at 281 Shrewsbury St. to be returned to Corapi from the company.

As of Sept. 29, the restaurant remains closed.

Corapi filed suit against Subway, claiming that the company had defaulted on rental payments for December 2024 and January 2025, according to court documents, owing more than $5,000 at the time.

The suit states that Subway also failed to make tax payments to the city, owing more than $2,000 in payments.
