KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Strawberry Hill is a neighborhood with history, charm and narrow streets. Jeffery Crockett knew that when he bought his home 15 years ago.

"All the safety we can have is important," he told FOX4.

A storm in March knocked out the streetlight across from his home. Despite several calls to the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities outage line, it's been out for the past six months. When he posted on the neighborhood social media app, NextDoor, he said he got several responses from neighbors experiencing streetlight maintenance delays.

"Everybody in Strawberry Hill has been great to stay together. That's why something like this, we're always really concerned and try to do everything we can," Crockett said. "I made sure to contact BPU like you're supposed to."
