PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and 16 other Oregon mayors joined together Monday to denounce the Trump administration's deployment of Oregon National Guard members to Portland . In a joint statement released Monday morning and during a news conference hours later, the mayors spelled out actions they plan to take to push back against the move.
In the statement , the mayors said they'd pursue "all legal and legislative options ... to deny our jurisdictions' personnel, equipment, facilities, and resources from any participation or support of militarized federal actions." The mayors also committed to sharing legal resources, coordinating with local governments and community partners, among other actions.
Oregon National Guard troops are expected to arrive in Portland later
