FARWELL, Texas (KFDA) - The Farwell Steers picked up a huge top-five win over #2 Post on Friday night under first-year head coach Derrick Shelton.
The Steers led the entire game until four minutes left in the fourth quarter, after Post scored the go-ahead touchdown but failed the two-point conversion.
The Steers would end up punching in the game-winning touchdown with just seconds left on the clock, grabbing the home victory by a score of 25-24.
Farwell head football coach, Derrick Shelton, said this team kept the faith throughout and knew they could pull off the win from the start.
“Our message all week long has just been for them to believe in each other and believe in the process and believe that they could go win that game,” he said.
