DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A Duluth man charged in the stabbing death of his wife has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to court documents.
Corddaro Cope, 37, is charged with second-degree murder with intent in the June death of his wife, Anissa Cope. Police found her dead in the couple’s apartment near Sixth Street and North 27th Avenue West in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

A court-appointed examiner submitted a competency report on Sept. 17. In an order filed Monday, Judge Theresa M. Neo ruled that Cope is incompetent to proceed due to mental illness or cognitive impairment.
