The Tulsa County Commissioners voted to approve four tax incentive districts for a planned data center near Owasso. The commissioners heard from people who were both for and against the plan.
Dozens of people attended, and many brought up concerns about how many jobs this would bring to Tulsa and how many of them would be local hires.
Those who support the project say it will bring in money and development to Tulsa County.
The data center known as Project Clydesdale will be at 76th Street North and Sheridan. Some people who live nearby are worried about how much water the plant will use.
"I feel that it needed further consideration,” said Susan O’Neal. “It feels like it's being rushed through without adequate consideration for the enormity of the impact it will have on the community."
