TOLEDO, Ohio — Despite what Toledo’s mayor calls a decline in the city’s overall crime rate, one troubling trend continues to stand out: domestic violence.
City leaders say they’re taking new action to confront the issue, launching an event designed to train professionals and community members to better identify, respond to, and prevent abuse.
The “Breaking the Cycle of Violence Summit” will bring together more than 200 people on Wednesday at the Imagination Station for a full day of training. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event runs until 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
