CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Cheatham County School District will introduce a weapons detection system starting on Tuesday.

A school district spokesperson confirmed to News 2 that Sycamore High School will be the first school in the district to have the weapons detection system on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and will screen all students and guests coming onto the school campus.

The school district notified parents on Monday about the new protocol in its monthly newsletter.

Sycamore Middle School is scheduled to have the weapons detection system installed the week of Oct. 6, according to school district officials.
