A Petaluma school counselor was arrested Monday on suspicion of child molestation, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said.  

Sebastopol resident John Conant, 66, is a school counselor at Cinnabar Elementary in Petaluma, according to police.  

On Sunday morning, sheriff’s deputies received a report of alleged child molestation involving a school counselor, and Conant was arrested on Monday and booked into jail on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14. As of Monday evening, he was still in custody on $250,000 bail.  

The Sheriff’s Office is concerned there may be more alleged victims.
