LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Over the summer , Louisville’s Parking Authority of River City proposed adding more than 300 parking meters along Baxter Avenue and Bardstown Road.

Now, Metro Councilman Ben Reno-Weber wants to reassure residents and business owners who are skeptical.

Both residents and business owners previously pushed back against the idea, claiming adding more parking meters would decrease customers and overcrowd neighborhood streets.

At a District 8 Advisory Board meeting Monday night, Reno-Weber told members he has confirmed the meters won’t go in right away.

Instead, he is helping to put together a “proactive proposal” for parking, and wants the community’s help.
