PICO-UNION, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- An investigation is now underway into a carnival ride malfunction in Pico-Union .

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health's (Cal/OSHA) Amusement Ride and Tramway Unit said it is now investigating the incident.

Scary video shows some of the carriages of the ride, commonly known as The Zipper, slamming into each other on Friday at Bishop Conaty - Our Lady of Loretto High School's "Family Fun Day" event.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but witnesses say some riders were trapped for more than an hour.
