VALDERS, Wis. — After struggling in its last couple of dual matches, the Florence volleyball team traveled to Valders on Saturday and found its game.
The LadyCats won nine of their 12 sets, the best among the field. No trophy or first-place award was given.
“After what was described as a skid or mid-season slump, Florence rebounded nicely and came out red hot on Saturday at the Valders Invite,” Florence head coach Teresa Chrisman said. “Being the only (Division) 5 school competing with respectable D2 and D3 Wisconsin schools, what the girls showed and displayed is exactly what we needed.
“It was a great day, and we really limited our unforced errors.”
The LadyCats swept Denmark 25-11, 25-23, Reedsville 25-12, 25-17 and Omro 25-9, 25-12. They fought off the host Vikings 23-25, 25-21, 15
