Former Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has revealed that after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, he considered retaliatory military action against Pakistan, but the Congress-led UPA government decided against it due to international pressure.

In an interview with a television channel on Tuesday, Chidambaram said, "There was pressure from the entire world. We were being persuaded not to go to war.

The then US Secretary of State came to Delhi and said, ‘Please do not take action.’ Without revealing any official secrets, I admit that a feeling of revenge arose in my mind."

The Mumbai attacks in November 2008 claimed 175 lives. Over 60 hours, 10 terrorists targeted the Taj Hotel, CST railway station, Nariman House, Cama Hospital, and city streets, carrying out indiscriminate firing.
