BJP’s Pritpal Baliawal questions Punjab Govt on mining ban in monsoon season

Chandigarh, September 30, 2025: Senior BJP Punjab spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal has questioned whether the annual ban on mining during the monsoon season was implemented this year.

Traditionally, the state government issues orders restricting mining activities from July 1 to September 30 each year due to heavy rains. Baliawal has sought clarity on whether such a ban was actually imposed in 2025.

He demanded that if the ban was enforced, the official notification should be made public. If it was not, he asked for an explanation as to why the decision was skipped this year.
