McLaren boss Zak Brown has said that although his team needs to keep doing what they are doing, an eye needs to be kept on defending world champion Max Verstappen, who has registered two consecutive wins and is breathing down Lando Norris’ neck in the drivers’ championship.

At the Dutch Grand Prix last month, Norris couldn’t finish his race and Verstappen came second, just behind championship favourite Oscar Piastri.

Verstappen dominated both the Italian and Azerbaijan Grand Prix, while Piastri and Norris struggled throughout.

As a result, Verstappen has cut Piastri’s championship lead to 69 points. McLaren boss Brown acknowledged that the former’s pace is a real concern and the Dutch driver cannot be underestimated.
