West Virginia’s traditional life magazine Goldenseal will transition from a paid print publication to a free online publication , the state Department of Tourism announced Friday.
The move will “bring financial stability” to the publication, which loses about $160,000 per year, the office said in the news release .

“Goldenseal is one of the state’s most prized publications, and we are excited to see it evolve into a publication that is free and accessible to all,” Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby said in the release. “For 51 years, the magazine has told stories of West Virginia’s people and heritage, and, as of this week, those stories
