HIT sitcom Mid-Century Modern has been canceled by Hulu after just one season.

The series follows three best friends who decide to retire together to Palm Springs after an accidental death.

It starred Hollywood favourites Matt Bomer, who played Jerry Frank, Nathan Lane, who portrayed Bunny Schneiderman and Nathan Lee Graham, who starred as Arthur Broussard.

The show's co-creator Max Mutchnick announced the sad news in an Instagram post as he thanked fans for their support.

Alongside a photo of the show's main cast and creatives, he wrote: "Ten great episodes… Not enough.

"But we loved making every single one of them.

"We’re gonna miss our very special show. Thanks to everyone who watched.”

The series was from Will & Grace creators Mutchnick and David Kohan and Ryan Murphy
