“This borehole is always crowded with people. We wait for hours just to get our turn to fill our containers. Often one trip isn’t enough. By the time I return home I’m so tired that cooking or housework becomes impossible. Even then, the water is salty and causes us pain when we drink or cook with it. But I have no other choice but to use this. We do not have bathrooms and so people relieve themselves anywhere. There is no privacy even when you want to take a bath.” – Salles
