GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island church is gearing up for its 21st annual coat giveaway event.
Donations are needed for the St. Leo’s Parish Coat Drive in Grand Island.
St. Leo’s committee, that organizes the event, said this is an ongoing tradition of service and warmth for the community set to take place on Oct. 23 at 2410 S. Blaine from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Last year the parish collected 2,800 coats and distributed 2,400 coats to children and adults in need. Leftover coats were donated to the Church of Christ for their weekly clothing distribution.
Once again, they are asking for help. Donations of new or gently used coats, gloves and mittens are urgently needed.
“Knowing I can count on St. Leo’s to meet the needs of winter coats for those who desperately need them, bring
