The effects of Hurricane Humberto are expected to impact Massachusetts on Tuesday.

The coast of Massachusetts is under a Small Craft Advisory until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, when a Gale Warning will take effect and remain in place until 5 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service .

Wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph across Cape Cod and the Islands on Tuesday “as Hurricane Humberto makes its closest approach,“ the Weather Service said.

Moderate winds between 10 and 20 mph are expected throughout most of the day, with temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies.
