ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) -- State police and officials will speak at a press conference in Rocky Hill on Tuesday on the 2024 homicide of two men found dead in a burning car off Route 34 in Oxford.
On May 30, 2024, troopers responded around 4:10 a.m. on Route 34/Roosevelt Drive. At the scene, troopers found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. When fire crews extinguished the flames, two bodies were found inside.
The bodies were identified as 36-year-old David J. Rivera of Hartford and 39-year-old Carlos O. Calderon of Hartford, according to the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and state police.
On June 10, the office announced that Rivera died from a gunshot wound to the head. His death was ruled a homicide. On July 9, Calderon’s death was ruled a homicide, but the cause
