Alabama football completed a thorough film study to prepare for Georgia’s defense.

The Crimson Tide didn’t watch tape just from this season, or 2024, or even 2023. Alabama studied all of it, going all the way back to 2022 to study Georgia’s different pressures.

“We were pulling up clips from 2022 Ohio State game and anything that we thought we could possibly see, we put out there at practice, and the guys were ready,” Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said .

Back in the 2022 game against Ohio State, a spot in the national championship game was on the line for the Bulldogs. Georgia tallied four sacks in a game in which it climbed back to beat Ohio State 42-41.

Watching that game as part of a wholistic film study paid off in 2025 for the Crimson Tide. Alabama beat Georgia
