Potential Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver trade target Tyreek Hill suffered a dislocated knee and is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

After examination, Hill tore multiple ligaments in his knee, including his ACL, and the injury is not only season-ending, but career-threatening for the 31-year-old wide receiver. A lengthy recovery is ahead for the star Dolphins receiver.

Hill had been subject of trade rumors, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Steelers at the forefront of those discussions. Yet, no movement had occurred as the Dolphins let the season play out.

In recent interviews, Hill had shrugged off both the investigation and trade rumors, saying he is only focused on football and where that will lead him.
