In a significant reform to streamline property-related services, the Maharashtra state property registration department has announced that tenant agreements can now be processed at any sub-registrar office within a district. This change, part of the One District, One Registration scheme, will come into effect from October 2.

Until now, citizens were restricted to sub-registrar offices assigned to their locality, often leading to long delays as some offices were overloaded while others remained underutilised. Though clearance was mandated within 24 hours, many citizens reported waiting weeks for document approval.
