A 19-year-old charged in connection with killing his father in East Pittsburgh earlier this month has turned himself in, officials said.

Following the shooting, authorities were searching for Tayron Reid, who police at the time said was “potentially armed and dangerous.”

Mr. Reid has since turned himself in to detectives and is now in the Allegheny County Jail, authorities said Monday.

At 10:35 p.m. on Sept. 16, Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police responded to a report of shots fired inside a residence in the 500 block of Ridge Avenue, according to Allegheny County Police.

At the scene, first responders found 45-year-old Ta’Ron Reid suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

He died at the scene.
