Paul Konchesky has revealed why he ultimately turned down the chance to join Rangers. ‌

The former England cap admitted when leaving West Ham that he spoke to the Ibrox outfit as he searched for his next challenge. ‌

He would go on to make a short trip across London to Fulham in a reported £3.25million move back in 2007. ‌

From there he managed to earn a move to EPL rivals and big hitters Liverpool - but that didn't work out as he would have hoped.

Reflecting on the interest from Rangers as he left the Hammers, he told Under the Cosh : "There was a couple.

"I spoke to Glasgow Rangers, I spoke to Birmingham, but ended up going to Fulham. ‌

"The Scottish one - I think at the time - I thought I was too young, you hear about you want to end your career there.
