It's over. The drama around Kirill Kaprizov and his contract has concluded with the 28-year-old agreeing to terms with the Minnesota Wild on the richest deal in NHL history.
The Wild confirmed the news, saying Kaprizov's deal is for eight years with an annual average value of $17 million. That's $1 million more per season than the eight-year, $128 million contract offer Kaprizov turned down earlier this month.
At $17 million annually and $136 million over the life of the contract, it's the richest deal in NHL history — in terms of both total value and annual average value.
This is a developing story.
