JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — A rescue was made during a southern Indiana house fire Monday evening.

At about 6:15 p.m., the Jeffersonville Fire Department responded to a structure fire with a possible rescue in the 1800 block of Dutch Lane, according to a JFD social media post.

Crews were on the scene within four minutes, officials said. Firefighters found a resident still inside during their search and rescued them from the home. They were taken to a local hospital by EMS.

The fire was brought under control within five minutes, according to fire officials. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
