A strong cold front will sweep through New Jersey on Tuesday, bringing significantly cooler temperatures and gusty northeast winds to start October.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be in the upper 70s and low 80s under mostly cloudy skies ahead of the cold front.
Residents can expect a rapid shift from summer-like conditions to a more autumn-like weather pattern through the week with a return to warmer temperatures by the weekend.
The cold front will move through the state Tuesday afternoon and evening, with temperatures dropping from the upper 70s and low 80s to much cooler readings.
Northeast winds will become increasingly strong, with gusts potentially reaching 40 mph near the coast.
