ROCHESTER, Minn. — Olmsted County is closely monitoring the potential federal government shutdown if Congress does not pass legislation to extend funding by midnight Tuesday.

The county says it wants to reassure residents that federal programs and services it administers should not experience immediate impacts during a short-term shutdown.

Olmsted County's Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services will continue operating in the short term. Clients will be notified directly of any changes if the shutdown extends.
