ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Officials are working to figure out how a bullet was brought into a Fulton County elementary school.

On Tuesday, Heritage Elementary School Principal Cheryl Parker sent a letter to parents and guardians to inform them about a single bullet being found on the floor near the serving line of the cafeteria.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and are working to identify the student that brought the bullet to campus,” Parker said.

The principal is urging parents and guardians to remind their students to report any suspicious behavior or concerns to an adult or school staff member.

No students or staff are in immediate danger, according to the principal.

Parker said the investigation is ongoing.
