CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. —

A South Carolina woman and her son are accused of posing as housekeepers or pet sitters and then stealing from clients.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office said Dana Cooley and her son, James Austin Cooley, were arrested in connection with a series of thefts.

Investigators said they would pose as housekeepers and pet sitters, gaining access to homes under the guise of offering trusted services.

Once inside, the mom and son are accused of stealing valuables.

Investigators said Cooley has a history of similar offenses, and both individuals are now facing charges.
