BETHANY, Ill. (WCIA) -- Officers and EMTs working out of Moultrie County were recognized by Bethany Fire for their efforts in saving the life of someone in cardiac arrest earlier this week.
In a Facebook post, the Bethany Fire Protection District announced that on Monday, Bethany Ambulance was dispatched for a medical call. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a patient in cardiac arrest.
EMT staffed on the ambulance was able to act quickly by giving by giving the patient medication and administering CPR. Assistance was also provided by Moultrie County officers a short time later.
After the treatment was provided, the patient successfully went in to return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and was awake and talking within a few minutes.
