HOUSTON (KIAH) – A front yard in Houston's Second Ward has drawn stares after a strange display featured mannequins hanging from a wooden frame, coffins on the grass, standing under a Mexican flag.

“This is just a little display on my own private property,” said homeowner Mark Rodriguez.

The unusual setup has sparked curiosity and some concern among social media users and people driving past. One driver told CW39 off camera that it was a bit much but needed to be said.

The homeowner behind the display said it’s his form of art and not meant to scare people, but rather about expression. “This year, I just thought this would be appropriate for where our country is going. I mean, my community lives in fear,” said Rodriguez.
