ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York Department of Transportation announced that I-490 East will be closed intermittently in Perinton beginning Wednesday night.
The closures come as crews continue to work on a bridge project over the Erie Canal and Kreag Road to improve safety in the area.
Motorists can expect closures lasting up to 30 minutes, along I-490 East between Exits 26 (State Route 31/Pittsford/Palmyra) and 27 (State Route 96/Bushnell's Basin) nightly from Wednesday, October 1, through Friday, October 3. Closures will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 a.m. during this period.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour using State Route 31, Kreag Road, and State Route 96.
The DOT also reminds motorists to prepare for travel delays and drive slowly in work zones.
